Four people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting at a house party in central California on Sunday night, police said.
Three men and one woman were shot dead in King City, the local police department said in a Facebook post. Three more men were also wounded in the bloodbath, cops said. None of the victims has been identified.
Three masked men wearing dark clothes drove up to the party, about 90 miles south of San Jose, in a silver Kia around 6 p.m., according to the King City Police Department.
The shooters exited the car, unleashed a hail of bullets on party-goers in the home’s front yard, then hopped back in the vehicle and drove away, police said. They remained at large Monday morning and had not been publicly identified.
“The suspects are considered armed and dangerous,” King City police wrote on Facebook. “Should you see them or the vehicle, please call 911. Do not attempt to contact them yourselves.”
When cops arrived, three men were pronounced dead on the scene. One woman was rushed to Mee Memorial Hospital in King City, where she was also pronounced dead. The three surviving men were taken to Natividad Hospital in Salinas, Calif., about 40 miles north of King City.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related, local NBC affiliate KSBW reported. Cops did not provide any further details about the motivation behind the attack.
If the shooting is tied to a gang conflict, it would be the second such mass shooting in central California in the past 14 months. In January 2023, six family members, including a 10-month-old child, were massacred as part of a long-running feud in Goshen, Calif., about 30 miles south of Fresno.
